DescriptionCream pot having a raised baluster-shaped body with a molded rim, let in with a triangular spout for pouring, and set a top a molded, straight sided foot ring. Its cast double-scroll handle has a curled thumb spur, a forked lower terminal, and is soldered to body.Label TextTaking the form of a plain but fashionable British cream pot of the mid eighteenth century, this vessel was made at the James Geddy Silversmith Shop, then under the supervision of Master Silversmith William deMatteo.
MarkingsBottom struck with "I•G", "deM", and "STERLING", all in relief within rectangles, in addition to "HANDWROUGHT", in incuse.
