Label TextThis covered sugar dish carries the pictographic mark of the "Golden Ball" sign, emblazoned with a CW monogram, struck twice on the bottom within the foot ring. It is believed to be one of the first marks used by William deMatteo when he became Colonial Williamsburg’s Master Silversmith in 1955. When the operation moved to the Geddy Silversmith Shop in 1968 this mark was retired.
MarkingsBottom struck twice with a suspended Golden Ball, bearing "CW" incuse, in relief within a three-lobed reserve, and "STERLING" in relief within a serrated rectangle.
