DescriptionWhite bed coverlet or counterpane woven with white loops brought up from heavy wefts in a pattern consisting of a central sunburst or sunflower, stylized floral sprigs and pots of flowers, tassels, and pine trees, all organized within varying curved and angular inner bands or borders. Pine trees form outermost border. Woven in one piece, without center seam. Selvages at edges; rolled hem at top and bottom. Marked in the weaving with letters and numbers reading "TKSF12."Label TextThis woven counterpane is made with weft loops brought to the surface. It is sometimes called woven candlewicking or the boutonne technique.
