DescriptionPortable orrery circular base wood plate with engraved, printed paper on top; outer ring of paper shows months, days and signs of Zodiac; inner portion divided into four quadrants corresponding to the seasons; at center are representations of the planets including Georgium Sidus (Uranus) discovered in 1781; and makers cartouche; hole in center of base into which fit the two parts of the instrument.
