DescriptionAppearance: Miniature rectangular dovetailed chest with molded edged hinged lid with plain front with centered brass escutcheon; the molded base continuing to scroll-cut bracket feet; interior has lidded till across proper left end; brass handles centered on each end.

Construction: Case sides are dovetailed to the front and back; the bottom is attached to the case with wooden pegs and nails (possibly added later); the base molding on front and sides is attached with pegs on the lower case front and sides; The feet are glued on the underside of the base molding and are glued together with a miter joint on the front feet; the rear feet are glued to the underside of the base molding on the case sides and the bottom board in the rear; the rear brackets of the back feet are attached to the side brackets in a rabbet joint; each foot has one vertical and two horizontal glue blocks; lid front has molding integral to the top; molding on the sides is attached by both a dado and two evenly spaced mortise and tenon joints; inside the till is on the proper right, extending across the case from front to back; the side and bottom are in dados; the bottom board has a molded front edge; the lip of the till has a molded edge and an integral dowl joint that sits in holes in the case front and back; the lid is attached with butt hinges; iron lock mortised into inside of case front.
