DescriptionArched top trunk covered with cowhide with hair on. The lid, reinforced and ornamented with 4 leather straps and, at center of front, back, and each end, a rectangular tin plate painted black; all held with brass studs which also form diamond shaped lozenge in center; edged and scalloped brown leather skirting; body has brass studded straps and a diamond shaped lozenge near each end of front; an iron bail handle at each end and iron lock and hasp. Lined with light blue paper. Polychrome woven tape nailed with brass tacks to inside of lid and case at both ends.
